Light of Life feat. Doris Evelyn Juan

Light of Life feat. Doris Evelyn Juan

INTERLUDE ( LIGHT OF LIFE )
(read by her daughter Tamara Juan)

Through the ebb and flow of night
(Peace and silence all surround)
I pause and listen, then I hear
The cycle as it turns, and churns, revolves.
A babe is borne,
A tired man dies;
Life resolves.

Light of Life, first seen by night,
Wavers, flickers, gleams, and burns its beam
Straight, and curved, along its path
Of hope and joy and love and peace,
And pauses with its small despairs,
The sadness, turmoil, not so rare.
And then it wavers, flickers, gleams and dims;
And Light of Life, first seen by night,
Looks long at life, goes out with night.

And so I listened once again . . . .
Ah, yes! The Light of Life, I heard it's wail.
The waver, flicker, and the gleam is done;
The beam burns bright.
And Light of Life, first seen by night,
Looks quick at life . . .
I smiled.
